The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated by the Assistant Indian High Commission in a grand and solemn manner today (15) in Kandy.
The ceremony was organized under the guidance of Assistant Indian High Commissioner Dr. Athira S from the Office of the Assistant High Commissioner of India in Kandy.
At the official residence of the Assistant High Commissioner, the Indian flag was ceremoniously raised, and the speech of the Indian President, addressing the nation on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, was read aloud.
The celebration was enriched by captivating Indian classical cultural performances, artistically presented by local talents.
The event witnessed the participation of Indians, members of the Indian diaspora, distinguished guests, friends of India, and journalists, all coming together to commemorate this significant occasion.
