Driven by the agony of being marginalized, insulted, and ridiculed within her class, a student of a prominent school in Narammala has mixed poison into the water bottles of five classmates and her own, leading to the hospitalization of all six children at Narammala Base Hospital.
On Monday (14) morning, six grade 10 students were admitted to Narammala Base Hospital after consuming water from their water bottles, which had been tainted with poison.
The selective nature of the incident raised suspicion, as only the affected students encountered problems with their water bottles, while the rest of the class remained unaffected. This raised concerns that someone might have tampered with the water bottles of these specific students.
Prompted by the school and hospital’s complaints, Narammala Police initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
Narratives reveal that after assembly on Monday (14) morning, students returned to their classroom to discover an unpleasant smell in their water bottles. Alarmed, they consumed no more than a sip and promptly alerted their class teacher about the tainted water.
While most students were attending the morning assembly, one remained in the classroom. This student, a girl, had ingested two sips from her water bottle, which bore the same unpleasant taste and odor.
Suspicion turned to her due to prior tensions within the class. School authorities communicated the situation to the police, emphasizing the need for an inquiry.
During the police inquiry, the girl admitted that she had been consistently excluded and mocked by her peers. Unable to endure the emotional distress, she resorted to pouring a weed killer substance from home into the water bottles of those students who had mistreated her. She also added the poison to her own water bottle.
Presently, all five students and the girl have been admitted to Narammala Basic Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources assert that none of the children are in grave condition, as the concentration of poison in the water bottles was minimal.
Psychiatric experts have offered insight into this distressing occurrence, explaining that forcibly isolating a child from peer groups and subjecting them to scorn can lead to significant emotional distress. Such cases necessitate careful handling and a thorough understanding of the underlying dynamics.
Narammala Police are diligently investigating the incident.
