Professor G.L Pieris Chairman of Sri Lanka Podujana Party says that the implementation of emergency law is against the basic principles of the Podujana Peramuna and as a professor of law he does not agree with this anti-democratic approach at all.

He and a group of the SLPP faction who voted for Dullas Alahapperuma at Presidential election vote , voted against the emergency in Parliament yesterday.

Calling a special media meeting today (28), Professor G.L. Peirce said:

“I am the founding chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
