An army major, K. Samantha Madhusankha, was found dead at the Anuradhapura Nuwaraewava Abhimansala Resort today (12) morning. The Major had hanged himself in his bedroom by using two blankets tied to a ceiling fan. A video of him was found on a cabinet in his room with his mobile phone.
Anuradhapura Nuwaraewava Abhimansala Resort is a facility for disabled veterans of the Sri Lanka Army.
K. Samantha Madhusankha was a 35-year-old father of one who resided at Samagi Mawatha, Matale Junction, Anuradhapura. An on-site investigation, as well as sudden death investigation, was conducted by Anuradhapura municipal coroner J. Jayathilaka, revealing the cause of death.
The post-mortem examination is scheduled to happen to today (12) evening at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
The Anuradhapura police are conducting further investigation into the matter.
