Army Corporal KNSK Herath (36) suddenly fell seriously ill while carrying the body of the unidentified deceased woman which was found at Great White Mountains in Talawakelle. Upon admission to the hospital it was confirmed that he has passed away.
When police officers, army officers, and police special task force officers arrived to retrieve the woman’s body, Corporal Herath, serving in the Third Lion Regiment of Nuwara Eliya and hailing from Anuradhapura, joined the effort.
During the operation, another individual arrived at the scene and was subsequently arrested by an army officer.
Tragically, it was during this time that the corporal’s health rapidly deteriorated.
Military personnel swiftly responded, and the corporal was taken to Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital, where it was confirmed that he had passed away.
