Former president of Ruhunu University Students’ Union, former editorial board member of Anidda newspaper, independent journalist Anthony Veranga Pushpika has reportedly been arrested by a group dressed in civilian clothes.
Lawyer Nuwan Bopage and a group of people have seen him abducted when he was boarding a bus to join a protest movement held in Colombo Fort.
Anthony Veranga Pushpika has been working as an activist of the Inter-University Students Union.
In an inquiry made to the police in this regard, they refused to provide further information stating only that a person was arrested.
