Urban Development Minister and Chief Government whip Prasanna Ranatunga said in the Parliament today that the Galle Face land slot next to the Presidential Secretariat office, which is currently being maintained as a protest ground is not a suitable place to hold protests.
The minister said that it has been confirmed by the events that happened in the past and that the place will be removed immediately and Viharamahadevi Park will be provided as an alternative suitable place for it.
Prasanna Ranatunga said that the struggle is now a loot of a group of drug dealers without common people and it should be controlled with all possible repressions.
“Important people are far away from the struggle today. There are only drug dealers. The people who fought peacefully have left and let the new president and prime minister continue their activities.
“These irresponsible people should be immediately removed from those areas and illegal vandalism should be brought under control. This situation should be controlled in this country. Otherwise you and I cannot live in this country.” Prasanna Ranatunga looked at the opposition and said.
