Police have recovered 120 kilograms of ammunition and 12 kilograms of explosives believed to be belonging to the now-defunct LTTE organization from the Mullaittivu Pudukuduirippu Anandapuram area. It was found while buried on July 27.
The explosives were recovered on a tip-off received by the police with the assistance of the Police Special Task Force (STF) following an order issued by the Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court.
Among the recovered ammunition were 120 kilograms of ammunition of various types and 12 kilograms of explosives including bombs. Pudukudiirippu police are conducting investigations.
