Adani Green Energy Sri Lanka Limited has expressed its willingness to proceed with the 484 MW Wind Renewable Generation Project, provided the Sri Lankan government upholds the approvals previously granted.
The company highlighted its commitment to developing a state-of-the-art wind power project along with the necessary transmission infrastructure, including 220 KV and 400 KV networks. Adani stated that it actively engaged in negotiations for over two years until the Sri Lankan government approved the tariff for the renewable energy proposal.
Despite its patience in awaiting formal confirmation from authorities, the company decided to withdraw from the project due to a lack of official communication. However, Adani reaffirmed its readiness to swiftly implement the renewable energy and transmission projects, as per the government’s prior approvals.
The company also reiterated its openness to collaborating with the Sri Lankan government on this or any other development project that benefits both parties.
