Acting IGP Tennakoon, who assumed office recently, visited the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, paying respects to the sacred tooth relic. During a media briefing, he outlined his objectives, including addressing the drug menace, especially its impact on schoolchildren. He assured that a comprehensive plan would be implemented soon to combat drug-related issues.
Additionally, Tennakoon expressed the need to take decisive action against criminal activities involving armed individuals, with a focus on protecting the general public. The Acting IGP commended the competence of the Sri Lanka Police and emphasized the successful resolution of recent criminal cases.
