Veddah Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo requests President Ranil Wickramasinghe to stop the actions so far have been taken against Inter University Student’s Federation convener Wasantha Muidalige and act under act under the normal law of the country.
He further noted that since Wasantha is a relative of Veddhah community the student’s leader is a pride for him.

Commenting to Lankasara Wannila Aththo further said that it is surprising that Ranil Wickremesinghe, who became the president of the country with the help of the struggle, does not understand that struggle is not a crime.

Addressing Lankasara, tribal leader also said:

I am proud to say Wasantha Mudalige. The mother of that child is Kalu is from our village. Father is Sinhalese. Vasantha is the child grown in Kalu’s womb.

I want to say this. People all over the country joined the struggle. Wasantla led the struggle for the good of every man. That’s how this struggle started.

But as the struggle continued, one group joined. Political groups, gangs, rogue groups joined. There were groups that took the good struggle of Wasantha Mudali to a different direction.

Now it is not a duty to keep and interrogate that child for months, to detain and interrogate other children with that child, and to physically torture them. A wrong thing.

I am thinking that even today’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe should think that it was because of that struggle that he got the presidency.

I am not saying that Wasantha and others should be thrown out because the current president got that position with the help of the struggle. If a mistake has been made, punish that child legally according to the general law of the country. send to jail But this kind of work is not good…

I think that this child is being tormented because of his kinship with the indigenous people. Because those involved in the mistake are released. Some ex-prisoners are pardoned and released.
