All functions of the Department of Immigration and Immigration has been paused due to a system failure. Hundreds of people who came for the services to the head office in Battaramulla are stranded since in the morning reporters said.
Officials have announced that all duties including issuance of passports will be delayed due to the situation. People were told that new applications will not be accepted until further notice.
