A wanted suspect, a resident of Elpitiya allegedly involved in several other murders including the killing of Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association Treasurer Mr. Roshan Kumara was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department officers yesterday ( 06). He was arrested at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport while fleeing to Dubai.
It is reported that this suspect tried to flee the country using a forged passport.
The police have uncovered the facts that he spied on the public health inspector to shoot and the police say that they will be able to uncover more information about the murder.
A 30-year-old resident of Elpitiya, Karandeniya area named Patthini Devage Thivanka Manohara has been arrested and he is a person who left after serving in the commando regiment of the Sri Lanka Army. .
He has prepared a forged passport under the false name of Maduraduwa Dilshan Madhusankha de Silva and he boarded Emirates Airlines Flight EK-653 at Katunayake Airport yesterday (06) at 07.15 to escape to Dubai. While arriving at the airport, the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested him.
