Public Health Inspector of Karandeniya Roshan Kumara, the treasurer of the Karandeniya branch of the Public Inspectors Association, was shot dead this morning (26).
PHI Roshan Kumara died on the spot when an unknown assailant came to his house at Pathiraja Mawatha, Alpitiya on a motorcycle while he was getting ready to take his child to school sources said.
The Public Health Inspectors Association says that this 51-year-old officer was the leader of a large number of raids that took place in the Galle district throughout the last period.
The reason for the murder has not yet been revealed. The killers have escaped.
