A professional diver who was diving off the coast of Dehiwala has been killed by a crocodile attack wildlife sources said..
The 58 year old diver who was admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital after the attack died on the way.
Attidiya wildlife officials have launched a special operation to find the sea crocodile.
Senior Environmentalist Nayanaka Ranwella told Lankasara that this crocodile was a salt water crocodile and that it could live in the sea and that this crocodile had been reported in the Dehiwala seas on a number of occasions.
Ecologists believe that this crocodile, which may have come from the Attidiya swamp and lived in the Wellawatte sewer, may also enter the Dehiwala sea.
