A crucial discussion between Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the United National Party will be held Tuesday (today) evening both party sources disclosed to Lankasara. The meeting will take place at the President’s secretariat.
The main objective of this meeting would come to a conclusion on whether both parties contest together under one symbol and the proportion of the candidates the parties should field for each constituency.
There are different opinions have been raised with regard to the number of candidates fielded from each party and SLPP has demanded the majority of sources said. Representing the UNP General Secretary of the United National Party Palitha Range Bandara along with Deputy Leader of the UNP Ruwan Wijewardena will be attending today’s meeting. The SLPP is to be represented by General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, and Sanjeewa Edirimanne.
