Another 75 contacts of Covid infected Minister Dayasiri quarantined

The Health Ministry said that 75 people, including five Buddhist monks who were close contacts of the Minister of State for Batik, Handicrafts, Textiles and Local Apparel Dayasiri Jayasekara, who is being treated after testing positive for Covid have been asked to self isolate.

Health officials said that the group are now under quarantine in their homes and that PCR tests were to be carried out on them.


In addition, a security officer of the Minister and members of the minister’s family, have been quarantined, the health ministry said. The Hettipola Medical Officer of Health and the Hettipola Police are conducting further investigations to find close associates of the state minister.
