A report released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka states that 162,000 cattle were slaughtered for meat in the country last year (2020).
The number of cattle slaughtered in 2019 is 159,000. The report states that the population of cattle in the country in the year 2020 will be 1104000. The milk production of that year was 414 million liters.
According to the Central Bank, 34,000 sheep and goats were slaughtered for meat last year (2020). The sheep population in that year was 11,000. The population of goats is 334,000.
According to a report released by the Central Bank, 21,000 pigs were slaughtered in Sri Lanka last year.
