06 MPs allegedly involve in mob attack to be questioned today !

The turned back CID officials, who went to the parliament yesterday to record statements from six parliamentarians who were allegedly involved in May 09th mob attack on Gall face peaceful protesters, will be in Parliament today also to get the statements Police said.

Statements will be obtained from MPs Johnston Fernando, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Sanjeewa Edirimanne, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, CB Ratnayake and Indika Anuruddha, who are the main accused in this crime.

Five teams of CID officers went to Parliament yesterday to obtain their statements, but it was postponed until today.

Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayatilleke were arrested yesterday following a written request by the Attorney General to the IGP and the CID to arrest 22 suspects, including members of parliament, if there is sufficient evidence to support the attack on the protesters.
