6 corpses of dead turtles were found on Katteikadu beach in East Vadamarachi, Jaffna yesterday (28).
The fishermen of Vadamarachchi have stated that because these turtles have been dead for several days, there is a strong stench coming from the turtle bodies.
The fishermen of the province have informed the Jaffna Assistant Director of Fisheries office regarding the pile up of these turtle bodies and a group of officers and wildlife officers of that office have gone to the relevant area and started investigations.
