An elderly couple and another woman who were living in the same house receiving treatment at the IDH hospital have succumb to Covid yesterday (03).
The deceased have been identified as three residents of the same house in Gonawatta, Malabe.
The deceased were aged 86 ,94 and 82 . Elderly couple were 94 and 86 while the other woman was 82 years old was the mother in law of their daughter, the Hospital spokesman said.
When inquired by the Thalangama Police, the police stated that the husband of the deceased was a former Kaduwela Municipal Councilor.
The wife is a retired nurse, Thalangama Police said.
The three died on the 22nd while being treated at the IDH Hospital, Thalangama Police said.
Covid also infected the couple’s daughter, her husband and son and are being treated at the Mulleriyawa Hospital, police said.
