The Director General of Health Services has appointed a technical committee to look into the decision of lifting isolation of several Grama Niladhari divisions in Piliyandala area over Minister Gamini Lokuge’s political interference.
The committee is scheduled to visit those areas today (5), and the Director General has instructed them to investigate and report on whether the areas should be re-isolated.
However, due to the high number of Covid patients reported in these Grama Niladhari Divisions, the Health Officer of the area has informed the Director General of Health Services and taken action to isolate him.
The health department decided to re-isolate the isolated areas in the morning as it was under the influence of the political authorities to remove the isolation in the evening.
