A Cameraman of a state television channel has tested positive for Covid 19. According to the  National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOPCO), the person had been lodging near Jayawardenapura University and is a resident of Balangoda. It is believed he had contracted Covid from a contact in Kurunegala who had tested positive for Covid 19 recently.

Meanwhile, media personnel has put forward a request to the NOPCO to be considered as high risk for contracting Covid 19 and to be given priority to be subjected to PCR testing at government hospitals. This is after it was revealed that the cameraman had also attended the weekly Cabinet press briefing held on Tuesday (13) at the Government Information Department.
