A young traffic policeman on duty near at the Subuthipura junction in Battaramulla was hailed by social media users today (05) after he was seen gently advising an elderly woman on the dangers of not wearing a mask during Covid times and providing the woman with a mask to be worn.

According to the witness who initially posted about the incident on social media, the policeman had noticed the woman who looked impoverished was without a mask and he had gone on to purchase a mask from a nearby shop for the woman.

“He was kind enough to buy a mask for her and even advised her on how to wear it correctly,” the witness said. He said he was moved by the policeman’s kind actions and therefore posted about the incident to honour the policemen with a kind heart who are so seldom appreciated.
