Vadukkode Police on yesterday (08) unearthed four ancient statues worth around Rs. 20 million buried in a pond near the Sanganai Odakkarai Nagarambiran Kovil in Jaffna.
One of the four statues, which is more than a hundred years old, is a statue of Lord Murugan and the other three are gold-plated peacock statues.
The statues were first spotted by a group of people at the temple and after informing the Vadukkodai police, the police took them into custody and are conducting investigations.
