In a bid to draw attention to their demands, paramedic professionals in Sri Lankan government hospitals have initiated a symbolic strike today (24).
The Joint Council for Professionals of Supplementary Medicine (JCPSM) has organized this strike, which is set to last for a duration of 24 hours, starting from 8:00 AM.
Ravi Kumudesh, the Chairman of the JCPSM, highlighted that this symbolic strike is motivated by seven key demands that the paramedic professionals are seeking to address.
While the strike is aimed at voicing their concerns, it’s important to note that some healthcare facilities like the Maternity, Cancer, Kidney, and Child Hospitals, along with the Institute of Mental Health, are not participating in this strike action.
