The recently appointed General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP), Shamal Senarath has said that a party member would be nominated for the post of National List Member of Parliament before the New year.

According to him the decision would be taken after consulting party seniors. He added that reorganization of the party will also commence shortly.

UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe appointed Prasanna Shamal Senarath, former Opposition Leader of the North Western Provincial Council as the Acting General-Secretary on Friday ( 04) after Akila Viraj Kariyawasam resigned from the post.
