The United National Party’s (UNP) Management Committee decided yesterday (2) to postpone the party’s 79th anniversary celebration, which was scheduled to be held next Saturday (6). The decision was made due to the health condition of the party leader, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
UNP General Secretary, Attorney-at-Law Thalatha Athukorala, said that the Management Committee, which met in Colombo, reached this decision.
She further stated that arrangements will be made to hold the postponed 79th anniversary celebration of the UNP on another date later this month.
