The Maradana Zahira College has given a set of its classrooms to the Police to be used as restrooms due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

According to the  Chairman of the board of management of Zahira College, Colombo, Fouzul Hameed the temporary arrangement has been on a request made by the Maradana Police to provide accommodation for officers due to extra work involved in the management of Covid.

Hameed said it is a humanitarian gesture during a national crisis. He also said that the College will strictly follow the health guidelines to disinfect the said classrooms after the police vacating the premises.

The Police said the classrooms will not be used as a quarantine center and will be used only as a resting point for its officers who work extra duty hours due to the current health crisis.
