Yoshitha Rajapaksa second son of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Chief of Staff to Prime Miniter, has denied rumors that he slapped musician Iraj Weeraratne, which was led Iraj to submit his resignation as director of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Daily Mirror reported today(26).
According to Yoshitha Yoshitha, such rumors being circulated on social media were baseless and he had no association with Iraj
“The last I saw him was at a function I attended some time back. I am not associated with him in any way. His resignation has nothing to do with me,” Yoshitha said.
Posts have been circulating on social media since Wednesday, that Iraj had submitted his resignation from the NYSC due to him being assaulted by Yoshitha.
Iraj was a non-executive director at the NYSC and recently submitted his resignation from the post to the subject minister Namal Rajapaksa.
