Parliament felicitation for Internationally acclaimed with the song “Manike Mage Hithe”, young singer Yohani de Silva’s which was scheduled to be held on today has been postponed indefinitely.
Parliamentary sources said that although the felicitation was organized under the auspices of the Women Parliamentarians’ Forum, there were differences of opinion among senior members of parliament.
However, the program was postponed because Yohani was scheduled to attend an urgent foreign function.
Vajira Chithrasena, who was recently awarded the Padma Shri from India, is also expected to conduct a simultaneous award ceremony for both.
However, the date for today’s assessment has not yet been determined.
