A woman in Mullaitivu who had been protesting for 1250 days demanding to know the whereabouts of her son who went missing during the war died of a heart attack yesterday (11).
The deceased has been identified as Michael Jesu Mary, 74, a resident of Manikkapuram, Vishwamadu, Mullaitivu.
Her son S. Joseph went missing in 2009 while traveling from Mullaitivu to Matale.
The woman died after being admitted to the Mullaitivu hospital after she had been protesting in front of the Mullaitivu District Secretariat for 1250 days with another group to find her relatives who went missing during the war.
