A 44-year-old resident of Battaramulla was apprehended by immigration officials at Bandaranaike International Airport upon her return from India.
The arrest came as a result of her alleged involvement in defrauding individuals of a total of Rs 13 million by promising them job opportunities in Poland.
The suspect, who had reportedly garnered 53 complaints against her, was taken into custody at the airport’s arrivals lounge. The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau was among the organizations that received complaints regarding her fraudulent activities.
