Wimal Weerawansa to be the leader of the 10 independent parties !

The 10 parties who became independent from the ruling government have agreed to offer the leadership of their new alliance to Wimal Weerawansa Former Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara said.

A special discussion between the leaders of 10 parties regarding the formation of a new alliance was held in Colombo yesterday (31).

It has been decided that the new alliance should be formed soon and four names have been proposed for the alliance.

The most suitable name will be selected from the names currently proposed and it will be announced after the next discussion.

In an interview with Lankasara, Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that he should have a broad understanding of rhetoric and politics in appointing the leader of the new alliance and that Wimal Weerawansa is the most suitable person for that.

He further stated that discussions will be held in the future with a number of parties who wish to join the alliance.

Accordingly, Wimal Weewaransa will be the candidate of the new alliance to be formed for the next presidential election, said Vasude Nanayakkara.
