Rakhitha Rajapaksa, the son of MP Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, who was arrested in connection with a road accident, has been released on police bail. He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo and will take further legal action regarding the accident that took place last night (19), police said.
According to police sources, a Range Rover jeep he was driving had collided with another car near the Rajagiriya flyover. Initial investigations have revealed that he had driven the jeep against the red traffic signs. Four persons were injured in the accident and were admitted to hospital along with a pregnant mother
