Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr.S. Jayashankar, who is in Sri Lanka, held discussions with seven ministers including the Foreign Minister yesterday (19). The foreign minister who arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday evening in his busy schedule met Foreign Minister Ali Sabri, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, Plantation Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera, State Minister for Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya met accordingly.
It is reported that these discussions were held with them until almost midnight yesterday. Adding a message to his official Twitter account last night, the Foreign Minister said that he had officially informed that support would be given to the debt restructuring process in Sri Lanka in view of the debt crisis. He also said that he hopes to discuss this with President Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning.
