The Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Ven.Velamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thero has passed away.
Ven.Kusaladhamma thero passed while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. He was 85 years old at the time of his demise.
He was the chief prelate of of the Vidyalankara Pirivena, and acclaimed to be a leading buddhist monk in the country to serve for the betterment of the Sasana in this country.
The final rites of the body will be decided today (28).
