The United National Party has decided to unite all political parties in the opposition under a common alliance to face the upcoming elections and political situations party sources said.
The oldest political party has taken this decision in the leadership board meeting of the United National Party today (23) at former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s political office on Flower Road, Colombo.
Former President Ranil Wickramasinghe has presented the related proposal.
Accordingly, the former president has instructed to invite all the parties including the Samagi Janabalawegaya Party to form a common alliance. However, the message has not yet been conveyed to SJB leadership sources.
