Convener of the United Trade Union Confederation Ananda Palitha says that two fuel tankers have been anchored in the port area without being able to pay the $ 52 million.
He made this statement addressing a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday.
He revealed that a ship with 40,000 metric tons of diesel tested on all samples has been anchored for 7 days from the 26th and a ship with 40,000 metric tons of 92 and 95 octane petrol has been anchored for 5 days from the 28th.
Ananda Palitha points out that a fuel shortage in the country could not be prevented if the unloading of fuel was further delayed by paying $ 52 million.
