Going beyond the party decisions taken by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, two more groups of parliamentarians from both parties have decided to join hands with the government, sources said.

According to reliable sources, the two groups have recently held several rounds of talks with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and agreed to support the unconditional reconstruction process.

They have demanded that the two groups be given cabinet, deputy and state ministerial posts. They have also been asked to take over the chairs of the oversight and finance committees.

Sources said that no definite agreement has been reached in this regard till this morning and a final decision will be taken at the discussion to be held tonight.
