A fire broke out in the upper floor of the famous Rio Ice Cream Shop in Jaffna on the 21st causing severe damage.
The fire broke out when the staff trying to switch off the generator after a power outage.
Vendors around the ice cream shop rushed to the scene to put out the blaze, but many of the items upstairs had caught fire and caused extensive damage.
Jaffna Kopai police are investigating the incident.
