Trump card of Easter attack recommendations again :Puts Maithree in hot water

The government has decided to implement the recommendations of the Easter Commission, which has not been implemented so far government sources said.
much to the contempt of the entire Catholic community around the world, including the Cardinal.

The cardinal had previously stated that the non-implementation of the Easter Commission’s recommendations was intended to protect certain sections of the government politically.

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, who opened the Kelaniya new bridge on November 24, said that the Presidential Commission appointed by the former government in connection with the Easter Sunday attack had named the former President, Prime Minister and Cabinet as the culprits. He also said that if a speedy solution is sought in an attempt to maintain the judicial process without compromising the independence of the judiciary, an Act of Parliament will be brought in and the rights of those responsible will be revoked.

Two days later, Tourism and Civil Aviation Cabinet Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that former President Maithripala Sirisena was fully responsible for the November 26 Easter attack and that the law should be enforced against him.

However, it is said that the immediate implementation of the recommendations of the Easter Commission, which had been keprtunder the carpet untl now came out agian immediately after The former President Maithripala Sirisena’s speech criticizing the government at the SLFP convention in Matale last Tuesday (05).

The ruling party MPs have pointed out that the remainder of the government’s tenure could be maintained even without all the SLFP members.

However, speaking to the media after the Bandaranaike commemoration ceremony yesterday, the former President said that he had embarked on a new journey with renewed vigor and new hope.
