Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte today ordered that the hearing of the case filed by the Attorney General against the three accused, including former Minister and Member of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka, begin on December 11.
The case has been filed in connection with the incident where a youth was involved in a road accident in Rajagiriya on the night of February 28, 2016 and caused serious injuries
The judge ordered that five witnesses of the complainants be summoned to appear before the court on that day.
The High Court Judge also ordered the Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy to produce to courts the jeep allegedly driven by Patali Champika Ranawaka that night.
Apart from Patali Champika Ranawaka, the second and third defendants in the case Thusitha Dilum Kumara and ASP Sudath Asmadala also appeared in court today.
