State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan has said that his party, TMVP (Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal will support President Ranil Wickramasinghe in the upcoming presidential election.
He pledged his support during a discussion between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and T.M.V.P party members including party leader Pillaiyan was held today (22) at the party headquarters in Batticaloa.
Pillayan said that if support is given to the success of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s plan to develop the Eastern Province, the land-dependent people of the East will have the opportunity to stand on their own two feet.
Pillaiyan explained why he is coming together to support the President.
Today is a very special day. There is no doubt that today will be the turning point in the destiny and future development of the Tamil people in the Eastern Province.
The Eastern Province, including the Batticaloa district, is based on agriculture and fishing. To develop the economy of this province, we must unite with Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe. He has a proper plan for the development of this province. Therefore, we cooperate with him.
He openly stated that in providing solutions to the problems of the Tamil people, as much power as possible should be given through the Provincial Council. We hope that the President will provide those solutions in the future. It is our responsibility to give him the necessary strength for that.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe is the only person who has the energy, knowledge, and ability to work in a planned manner to bring modern technology to a higher level in the country’s construction sector, manufacturing sector, agricultural modernization, fishing sector, industry sector, and artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, The President joined another meeting held at the residence of State Minister S Vilayendran. President also had a friendly conversation with the family members of Vialendran.
