A 25-year-old man has been arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) in Wattala for allegedly promoting the LTTE and its leader Prabhakaran on Tik Tok, police said.
DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect’s permanent residency is Hatton but he had been born in Mullaitivu.
“The suspect has circulated various news items and videos to promote LTTE terrorism and Prabhakaran which is an offence under the PTA,” he said.
Upon searching the suspect’s mobile phone, the investigating officers had uncovered multiple contents created by the arrestee promoting terrorist activities.
