The Parliament of Sri Lanka has removed all details relating to residential addresses and telephone numbers of all Members of the current Parliament for their safety.
A spokesman for Parliamentary affairs told News 1st News that the move was to protect parliamentarians in the face of the current situation in the country.
Accordingly, the addresses and telephone details of all the Members of Parliament currently represented have been removed from the website.
Earlier, the official website of the parliament had included landline and mobile phone numbers as well as the addresses of the 225 members of the current parliament.
During the unrest on May 09, the house properties belonging to several parliamentarians and politicians were attacked and set on fire.
