The Four Chief Editors of Lake House dropped from President’s reception !

Chief Editors of the four major newspapers of the state owned print media institution, Lake House have not been invited to the reception given to the media heads including the editors of the all national newspapers which was held at the President’s House last Monday. Their absence has brought a curiosity among media personalities and media sources say that they have not received a proper response to their personal inquiries from the relevant organizers sources said.
Representatives from all print and electronic media in the country have been present at the President’s reception by the on the occasion of the end of the year. However, Dharman Wickramaratne , Editor Silumina, gamini Jayalath Editor of Dinamina, Pramod De Silva Editor of Daily News and Dinesh Weerawansha Editor of the Sunday Observer have not been invited while only the trhe Editor of Tamil publication Thinakan Edoitor Senthil Velavar and the editorial director, Dharma Sri Kariyawasam, were invited.
There is a lot of talk in the media, especially at Lake House, about the basis for the Tamil newspaper editor’s participation and the intentional non – participation of other editors, and even pro – government trade union representatives. The sources added that there was some dissatisfaction with the act of the President’s Media divisionn who were the organizers.
Although attempts were made to contact Presidential Media Director General Sudeva Hettiarachchi to inquire about this, he did not answer the phone.
