The Election Commission had spent more than 131 million rupees on election-related activities by the 8th of February. The BBC said, quoting the Elections Commission
The BBC further said that according to the information obtained by the Election Commission in terms of the Freedom of Information Act, the amount given by the Ministry of Finance to the Election Commission for recurrent expenditure as of February 28, 2023, is over 127 million rupees.
The estimated total cost of holding the local government election is 9326 million rupees. That is $9.3 billion.
