The cabinet has approved the import of glyphosate required for agricultural purposes for a period of six months.
The President has submitted this proposal to the Cabinet to allow the use of glyphosate for all agricultural activities.
Due to the government’s policy decision to ban the import of glyphosate, all kinds of agricultural activities have been severely affected and the price of essential food items is on the rise. Therefore, the Cabinet has approved the import of the entire amount of glyphosate required for the cultivation of the 2022/23 season.
