The Police have deployed ten teams to arrest a Sergeant of the Kuruwita Police Station who had recently fled with a firearm after issuing death threats to nine other officers. The Police Sergeant had fled while on duty in the Siripagama on October 29 along with a service firearm.
According to Police sources, the absconding policeman had visited a relatives home in Kurunegala thereafter and claimed he will murder nine officers including the OIC of the Kuruwita Police station.
Though the Policeman has been missing for 12 days the Police have been unable to elicit any information on his whereabouts.
